Hi Sara.

I’m so glad to hear from you.  Asking about Moose is asking for a very long email.

FIGURING OUT IT’S NOT SO BAD GETTING YOUR FEET WET.  MOOSE IS ON THE LEFT.

Moose is absolutely wonderful!  I love him to death.  He fit right in w/ the entire family and is a great member of my little “pack.”  He is a total clown at times and is adorable.  He does chase the horses but they just ignore him so even they tolerate a little puppydom along w/ everyone else.  With work he overcame his mouthing issues very quickly (if you remember those) and is a great puppy.  He loves riding in the car/truck. He totally LOVES his toys and has even learned to take them out of his little “toy box” in the living room and even puts them back when asked.  It’s hilarious. He is a very smart boy.

Moose has stopped bumping into things and I don’t think even realizes he only has one eye (unless someone decides to throw his fetch toy on the wrong side.)  He loves “helping” feed the horses, etc. and is pretty much velcro to “mom” on most occasio

MOOSE (right) AND BOUNCER  BEST FRIENDS & TOTALLY DIRTY!

He has grown into a gorgeous, very strong boy. Right now he’s about 110 lbs. and  still growing. He’s very tall and is just now starting to fill out. My vet is happy that he hasn’t bulked up until now so he will maybe avoid some “big dog” problems until he’s much older (hips, etc.).  He seems to still be growing every day and I think his 2 year bday should be around June/July?  Contrary to what we once figured he is doing very well with my friends’ kids who come over although he does on occasion still try to take the smallest ones’ shoes, clothes, etc.  We are still working on the shoe fetish. ;)  But, he’s a lot better and LOVES to play and get pets, kisses from the kids.

Of course I wouldn’t mind sending you some pictures!  I’ll send some with this email but they aren’t very good.  The only ones I have here on my work computer are from a long camping trip we took late last summer w/ all the dogs & horses.  He had an absolute blast and has learned to be a really good camper, loves the campfire and “dropped treats (accidental)” even staying in camp and being very courteous at “dinner” time with the kids, etc.   He’s not much of an explorer, choosing to be at my feet/legs pretty much most of time which I LOVE!

On a side note:  My oldest dog passed away recently and I am looking for another puppy to keep Moose company and be more of a play companion, etc.  My oldest dog was his best friend.  The other two dogs (Zip & Sandy) play w/ him but they are pretty much buddied up and it would be nice to have a younger puppy as part of the family, etc.  I had such a great experience w/ your organization and w/ you so if you come across a lab or lab cross pup I would love to be advised and considered.

Thank you so much for the email and I’ll send some better pics tomorrow.

Becky
